Totally True or Fuckin’ False #6
Hello All, I’m Danny Charisma, no introduction needed, you all know and wish you were me, especially certain members or member. We have a great column here for you friends, so enjoy! And remember; DC is always right, Robbie is almost always right, Milo didn’t manage to make it this week, and JG and CK are in charge, so I’m going stop before I get myself into trouble.
Since everyone loves arguing about things on our podcasts and our forums, we’ve decided to give you a way to read all of the heavily analyzed and expertly crafted opinions of our Pinfall Recall Team right here in one place, as we gather to decide whether each statement is “Totally True or Fuckin’ False!” Each and every week the team comes together to answer the tough questions, and the host changes every time. Obviously, this is DC’s week. The host compiles the questions, and the rest of the team lays out their opinions right along-side those of the host. So, without further ado, I present to you our sixth edition of Pinfall Recall’s
Totally True or Fuckin’ False? (continued after the jump…)

Question #1 - “The best choices for WrestleMania main events in 2009 would be John Cena V.S. Batista and Jeff Hardy V.S. Edge.”
DC - Totally True, These two main event seem to be the most logical and most exciting. Especially the Hardy/Edge main event, with Hardy winning his first (and probably only) World Title! I also think that we need to see a heel Batista facing a Face Cena for the first match to be truly acceptable!
CK - Fuckin False. I’d be all about seeing Jeff Hardy vs Edge, especially if they played it out with some kind of TLC or Ladder gimmick, but I don’t want to see Cena v. Batista. Batista bores the shit out of me now, but even putting that aside, I think seeing another major high-profile Cena V Orton match would be much better, both from a match and a psychology perspective. As for whether or not I think that will actually happen? We’ll that’s another story.
JG - Totally True. Though I think this is true I hate to say it because I hate Batista. He’s a douchebag and I think he sucks in the ring, BUT the match between him and John Cena was a pretty darn good one. Cena really took it to the head, and was out for a while, but who wouldn’t love to see that rematch. Almost like a… you dirty rat, you broke my neck and now I’m gonna break you.
RDB - Totally True, Hardy and Edge would bring the house down and they are definitely building towards a Batista vs. Cena match at Mania. The problem is that Jeff keeps losing so if he wants to be legit, then he has to win the Rumble imo.
Question #2 - WWE Creative are doing the smart thing by Pre-Planning Kurt Angle’s possible WWE Return.
DC - Totally True, ANGLE WITHOUT A DOUBT IS THE GREATEST WRESTLER IN THE BUSINESS TODAY. WWE would be stupid not to plan his return, Planning ahead never hurt anyone and luck favors the prepared, WE want Angle! We want Angle!
CK - Fuckin False. But that really depends on what angle (pun intended) you are looking at it from. From a sheer booking perspective, to have some ideas should Kurt come to them, I think thats smart. But if you look at it from the perspective of a business decision to bring Kurt back at all, I think its outright idiotic. If Kurt makes it to the end of his TNA run without severe, life altering injury, I still believe its only a matter of time before that injury occurs. If he signs with WWE, even on a limited contract, that injury will likely occur there, and cost WWE big money, not to mention bad publicity. Kurt has shown that he can’t regulate himself, and it would be irresponsible of WWE to bring him back.
JG - Fuckin False. Kurt Angle has already stated MANY times that he can’t handle the schedule. He was on a million pain killers a day, and he wants to get into MMA. Kurt has no fucking idea what Kurt wants to do, and the dumbest thing Vince could do would be to put Kurt in a place where he can end up leaving Vince high and dry when he flits on to his next interest. FUCKING FALSE.
RDB - Totally True- Better to be prepared than caught off guard. It would be logical to do this instead of being off the ball and fucking it up.
Question #3 - TNA’s “Main Event Mafia” is turning out to be a bad rip off of the nWo.
DC - Totally True, the nWo was actually cool, This MEM thing is bogus. Sure, I respect all the wrestlers involved with the MEM, but when they’re all together it reminds me of a BAD BAD BAD rip off of nWo, Let’s be clear, I’m talking about when the nWo was at their prime AKA WWENWO.
CK - Fuckin False. I think the Main Event Mafia is a GOOD ripoff of the nWo. The group has helped make TNA’s programming significantly better over the last few weeks, and it has also helped lead them to their highest rated show yet. So while it is obviously a blatant ripoff of the style, they certainly aren’t a bad one.
JG - Fuckin False. The nWo was never as good as the MEM is right now. The MEM shines like the gigantic nugget of old gold it is. The people in it were always better as heels. The people in it are amazing at clowning people. *SPOILER ALERT* Booker T channeling his old character from WCW is AWESOME! All-in-all the MEM is something that the nWo could never have been because they were with the “outsiders” angle. This is far better and that’s hard for me to say because I’m all about the nWo!
RDB - Totally True- Let’s see, veterans past their prime at the top? Check. They control the major championship in the company? Check. Cheesy name? Check. Musclemen brought in with no chance of ever moving up? Check. But hey, it seems to be working so run with it TNA.
Question #4 - Raw’s Mike Knox is being properly bulit up as a true threat.
DC - Fuckin’ False, He is actually really pathetic right now. He needs something to do, and something to say, Like I said, team him with Snitsky and push him that way.
CK - Totally True. But only as much as he can conceivably be. When it comes down to it, he is still just another “Big Guy”, and while the whole silent but deadly thing is working for him, and I could see him being an actual threatening fixture for the next couple months, I inevitably see him just becoming a constant foil for the mid-card. He will have his day as a threat, with Rey and likely with Bourne after that. He may even get involved in the IC story for a short while (but I hope not). But though he may be silent but deadly now, like any strong fart, he will eventually fade away.
JG - Totally True. As much as I hate to say it, it’s the smartest thing they could do to just not let him talk. Well done to the WWE. Also, I hate the whole big guy smash thing, but for Mike Knox (silent Mike Knox) it REALLY works. Look for them to put him in a big picture sometime soon (hopefully they’ll jerk him out of the feuds with the small guys.)
RDB - Fucking False- I think beating up a 5’8” superstar who can’t walk is all that threatening. Have him beat the shit out of Kane then come and talk to me.
Question #5 - Ted DiBiase’s absence from WWE Television is hurting his Career more than anything.
DC - Fuckin’ False, I don’t see this hurting him that much. All WWE has to do is plan his return, and he had best still be a part of the Priceless faction when he does, If they decide to push him in singles competition, they might as well release him now, he’s not ready! But this injury just adds legit repercussions of Orton’s punt to the head!
CK - Totally True. Especially because he is taking that time away to work on the Marine 2. This absence will not only do nothing for him with the mainstream movie audience, but it will also allow people to slowly forget about him from a wrestling perspective. He certainly made an impact with Cody, but aside from the initial Cody/Manu backlash, the attack on DiBiase has gone more or less forgotten on TV for the last couple weeks. Upon his return I believe he will have great success, and it will likely start via a feud with Cody, Manu and Orton due to their new alliance. But this time away will do him no good at all.
JG - Totally True. The funny thing is, if people wouldn’t keep bringing him up, I’d have forgotten him already. He wasn’t anything stand-out in the ring. His gimmick with Cody is great, but now when I think Priceless, I think Cody and Manu and I like that team better anyway. Manu is something to watch. Look for him to be in the big picture sometime soon too.
RBD - Totally True- I think his absence totally ruins the Simply Priceless routine as the other two look like Orton’s bitches. He was the charisma and glue that held that group together and now he’s useless off of TV. Worse, he’ll probably be forgotten after a few months and they’ll run his return program only for the audience to look and say “Oh yeah that guy, what did he do again?”
WELL! there we have it PFRCers, another edition of TToFF, and that was edition #6, please feel free to comment or just write nothing. Either way, I could care less what you think as I’m Danny Charisma and I’m automatically better than you, PEACE!
