Latest on the firing of Chris Jericho
- WWE has removed Chris Jericho’s profile from their site. This, of course, is to further the storyline of him being “fired” last night on Raw.

TNA
TNA injury news
- Kevin Nash had his elbow lanced yesterday to try and help with the staph infection he developed. While TNA claimed on TV that Nash got the infection while in Japan, it is believed that he got the infection due to some recent tattoo work.
- Alex Shelley is working through either a pectoral muscle injury or a neck problem right now. He was kept off of last night’s Impact tapings so that he could rest up.
- Robert Roode’s ankle injury looks to be more of a sprain, which is good news because at first it was thought that he had suffered torn ligaments.
- I also read on wrestlezone.com that Scott Steiner is having severe back problems and may never wrestle again. His upper body mass is likely the source of some of his problems and his stretching regiment to be able to wrestle sometimes lasts up to an hour. Inside the ring Steiner is limited to the point where he can’t do back bumps, and instead lands on his knees or side. Some of the roster, despite Steiner’s reputation of being a threatening person, feel sympathy for him. It should be noted that he is financially well-off and would be fine if he were to retire now.

ROH
ROH to have show in Indianapolis, Newswire for January 13
- Ring of Honor will debut in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday 3/14 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday at www.rohwrestling.com.
ROH will return to Collinsville, IL right outside of St. Louis on 3/13 as well. (Credit: PWinsider.com)
- January 13th: We’re just three days away from the debut of Ring of Honor RISING ABOVE on Pay-Per-View. You can watch this event on DIRECT TV, iN Demand, The Dish Network, & TVN cable systems in the United States and Viewer’s Choice and Bell ExpressVu in Canada. The first review on the show is in and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote “You are not going to find a show with two better matches on it, nor any better of a final hour.” For complete details on this event click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2508.
- Austin Aries finally made contact with the ROH Booking Committee after ignoring several attempts to reach him since Final Battle. After several requests, he said that he’ll capitalize on the World Title shot he earned by defeating Tyler Black to “become the first two-time ROH World Champion” in Edison. He also said that soon his “manifesto would be opened to the eyes of the blind”.
- We received disheartening news late last week in reference to Mark Briscoe’s ailing knee. It appears that he will be sidelined for much longer than originally thought. Jay Briscoe stated that, “(Mark) has been told that they need to shorten the ligament behind his kneecap and tighten the ligaments on the sides.” It seems that medical personnel may in fact need to harvest the ligament tissue needed for the procedure from cadavers. We’ve been told to expect him to be out of action somewhere between 4 and 6 months, depending on his recovery and the rehabilitation process. Everyone at Ring of Honor wishes Mark the best in his recovery.
- Rhett Titus will have the biggest test of his young wrestling career when ROH returns to Detroit. On January 30, “Addicted to Love” will meet the “Best in the World” as Titus has signed to face “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson in a singles match. “Hey Brother, I’m making a name for myself,” said Titus. “And the ladies of Detroit Rock City will quiver when I swivel because everyone knows, brother, that my delts will make them all – even Danielson – melt.”
- ROH Officials are happy to announce that a rematch from “The French Connection” has been signed for Detroit. Brodie Lee of the Age of the Fall has demanded another shot at the Necro Butcher claiming that the match they had in Montreal “pales in comparison to the beating I’ll give Necro on the 30th”.
- You can now take 30% Off your next order placed at www.rohwrestling.com. This includes DVD’s, tickets to upcoming live events, apparel, & much more. For complete sale information including the discount code click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2338. Our latest DVD release is “Wrestling At The Gateway” from Collinsville, IL on December 5th. This event features ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Bryan Danielson & Jerry Lynn; Austin Aries vs. Tyler Black; Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious vs. The Necro Butcher & Ace Steel; Tag Team Gauntlet Match with Brent Albright & Erick Stevens vs. Sweet N Sour Inc. vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Irish Airborne; plus more.
- We’re pleased to announce that current ROH World Champion, Nigel McGuinness, as well as the current ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kevin Steen and El Generico, have all signed and will be in action when ROH returns to Florida on February 6 and 7!

Joey Styles punched JBL in the face during overseas tour
- PWINSIDER.COM is reporting that on the recent WWE tour of Iraq, WWE.com writer and former announcer, Joey Styles was the object of repeated harassment by JBL (John Layfield) with a lot of condescending comments and actions, including a report of JBL spilling a drink on Styles on purpose.
JBL has a long history of these type of harassments. On another overseas tour he harassed Smackdown’s Palmer Cannon (Brian Black)(Brian Mailhot) resulting in Cannon flying himself home from the tour.
After several days of this Styles finally went after JBL and wrestlers held them apart, but JBL & Styles broke free and Styles nailed JBL in the eye, busting him open and blackening it. It was reported that JBL had been drinking.

Smackdown Diva considering retirement, Simmons inducted to College Football HOF
- PWinsider.com is reporting that WWE Diva Victoria may be on the verge of retiring, and there is a strong possibility that she has already given management notice as to when she plans on leaving the company. Although nothing has been confirmed, her retirement rumors began circulating backstage at WWE’s Survivor Series PPV.
- In New York City tonight, WWE star Ron Simmons (aka Farooq), FSU’s first two-time consensus All-American, was inducted into the College Hall of Fame. The former FSU defensive lineman became the sixth player or coach with FSU ties to receive college football’s most prestigious recognition.
