More on the WWE vs. NBA story
- Several shows have been talking about the Vince McMahon vs. NBA story since it broke yesterday. ESPN morning talk shows “First and 10” and “Mike and Mike” have discussed the topic and taken the side of Vince, saying that Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke is in the wrong for trying to violate the contract he signed with WWE months back. Obviously the WWE will be thrilled with the free national press they are receiving.
- WWE.com has posted an update on Monday’s Raw, which was scheduled to take place in Denver’s Pepsi Center. You can read the full update here. The following excerpt discusses the venues that have been offered to the company for next week’s show…
“While working to resolve the scheduling conflict between Raw and the Denver Nuggets’ NBA Western Conference Semifinals game against the Los Angeles Lakers, WWE officials have received proposals from numerous venues including Madison Square Garden and, ironically, the STAPLES Center – the home of the Nuggets’ Monday night opponents, the Lakers. In addition to numerous other venues, these major-capacity metropolitan arenas proposed to have WWE’s flagship program emanate from their locations instead of Denver’s double-booked Pepsi Center this coming Monday.”
- The latest on Monday’s Raw is that WWE is looking into running the show in Colorado Springs. An official announcement is expected shortly, as they don’t have much time to deal with the ticket situation.

WWE gives new performance enhancer to Yankees players
- As reported on a couple weeks ago, the New York Yankees’ new tradition of passing a replica WWE Championship for the hero of the game has added a spark to the Yankee clubhouse. The title, which was given to outfielder Johnny Damon by starting pitcher A.J. Burnett’s son, has become a coveted prize in the locker room with every player wanting to be the Superstar of the game with Damon earning back the title this Sunday following a walk-off homerun.

Johnny K-9 arrested, Lacey Von Erich hospitalized
- Ion William Kroitoru, who wrestled as Johnny K-9 and Bruiser Bedlam in the WWF and Smoky Mountain Wrestling, has been charged with conspiracy to murder as one of the members of the United Nations Gang plotting to kill members of the Red Scorpians, according to today’s Vancouver Sun.
- Lacey Von Erich, the 22 year old daughter of Kerry Von Erich, who was under a WWE developmental deal for a short time, was diagnosed with meningitis over the weekend after being hospitalized for a massive migraine headache that wouldn’t subside.
